Summary

The Pierce Enforcer PUC pumper truck will be paid for through a contract with Richland Township.

The Council approved the purchase agreement for a Pierce Enforcer PUC pumper truck for the Ellettsville Fire Department. Town Attorney Darla Brown explained this resolution authorized the fire chief to sign the agreement for the truck, which was ordered previously. The Council also approved the financing for the fire truck through PNC Bank. Fire Chief Kevin Patton clarified that Richland Township's contract pays for the truck, but the town owns it.

The Council approved Ordinance 2025-26, the salary ordinance for budget year 2026. Town Manager Michael Farmer stated there are no scheduled raises for the workforce in preparation for potential revenue changes in 2028. Clerk Treasurer Noelle Conyer noted no changes were made since the first reading.

The Council selected three representatives to serve on the Richland Township/Town of Ellettsville Reorganization Committee. Michael Farmer explained the committee will form subgroups for areas like parks, public safety, and planning. The committee must complete a plan by June for both boards to vote on, which will then go to a November referendum. Council President Scott Oldham nominated Mike Cornman, Andrew Henry, and Councilman William Ellis. The Council voted to approve Mike Cornman, Andrew Henry, and William Ellis as the town's representatives.

Planning Director Denise Line announced the Heritage Center's grand opening for stakeholders and grant holders. The center will open to the public on December 15. Michael Farmer added that rules, costs, and availability will be posted on the town website. He also noted that town crews built a million-pound stone accent wall for $15,000 using donated rough stone and trucking.

The Council approved transferring $1,200 from the General Fund's office supplies line item for Redevelopment Commission pay. Clerk Treasurer Noelle Conyer explained this adjusts funds previously appropriated for the commission.

Noelle Conyer asked the Council's preference for the 2026 meeting schedule. The Council agreed to keep meetings on the second and fourth Mondays at 6:30 p.m.
